WPS: High-Throughput Screening System
The WPS combines Attalon’s patented low-frequency/THz-Raman™ technology and High Throughput screening
hTe Well-Plate System (WPS) is designed for high-throughput screening (HTS) using low-frequency THz-Raman™ spectroscopy. It enables rapid screening and identification of polymorphs, co-crystals, and crystallinity in pharmaceutical compounds, particularly Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). THz-Raman™ extends Raman spectroscopy into the low-frequency (terahertz) spectral region, where lattice vibrations and intermolecular modes occur. These signals provide a “structural fingerprint” that helps distinguish polymorphs, crystal phases, and other structural differences that are difficult to detect using the conventional Raman fingerprint region alone. The system is compatible with standard well plates (6 to 1536 wells) as well as custom substrates. It can analyze powders, tablets, and crystallization samples while automatically collecting Raman spectra and mapping data across each well. The WPS provides fully automated measurements, configurable scanning patterns, and integrated imaging to streamline data collection. This enables faster measurements, improved repeatability, and higher throughput, allowing researchers to focus more on interpreting results rather than manually collecting data.
