What’s New in Raman?
The New RXN2 1000 Raman Spectrometer
Fluorescence Reduction Dispersive Raman
The new Rxn2 1000 Raman analyzer
from Kaiser Optical Systems has been
designed to provide the fluorescence
reduction and spectral performance of
a laboratory FT-Raman instrument but
with the additional capability for in situ
lab and process measurements using
fibre-coupled probes.
Whilst the vast majority of candidates
for Raman spectroscopic analysis are
readily measured using visible laser
excitation, a small proportion exhibit a
strong fluorescence signal which
swamps the Raman scatter. The Rxn2
1000 analyzer uses near infrared
excitation and Kaiser’s holographic
technology in order to address these
issues.
To meet the challenges of deep-red
excitation, Kaiser have developed
optimized optics, gratings, probes,
and detector technology. Many
applications that couldn’t previously
be monitored by dispersive Raman are
now accessible with the RXN2 1000.
Applications
• in situ reaction monitoring
• Reaction pathway understanding
• Yield optimization
